Jennie Gabriel, a contestant of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" sa "Showtime" had impressed the judges and hosts and the madlang people with her spot-on Angel Locsin impersonation on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
During her performance, Vice Ganda, the program host revealed that Jennie sings at a popular comedy bar and performs Angel impersonation act. She has been a reliever for a long time already at Punchline and Laffline.
When Vice requested Jennie to greet the audience with her Angel Locsin's voice, the madlang people applause and erupted with laughter. Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda's co-host agreed that Jennie perfectly copied Angel's movements as well.
Vice also asked "Angel" to give a message to her ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano. Jennie was game throughout and even joked how she still loves her former flame, adding that it would never go away.
Jennie ended the four-day winning streak of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" defending champion, Ronald Rosalita, a farmer from Davao del Sur who sang "I Who Have Nothing" by Tom Jones. Jennie performed her rendition of "Halik" by Aegis, with only 0.2 of difference in their scores.
