A schoolboy in Thailand, 11-year old Tharathep Wanacharoenlap got impaled through the neck on one of the gate's 8-inch metal spikes to see his friend.
According to reports, the schoolboy slipped at the top because the gate was wet from a recent rain.
But by some stroke of luck, the rusty spikes missed the young boy's arteries. He miraculously survives.
Emergency services managed to cut him free with the metal still embedded in his neck and rushed him to hospital. He is still recovering and medics say he should be released within the next few days without any life changing injuries.
