Abu Sayyaf, a local Islamic militant group notorious for kidnapping foreigners was responsible for a deadly night market bombing in Davao City on Saturday, September 3 that killed at least 14 people and injured more than 60 others.
Local celebrities took to Twitter and Instagram to express their prayers and sadness for President Duterte's hometown following a deadly blast in Davao City.
Among those celebrities who have voiced similar concerns for those living in Davao City, who are currently being told to stay inside their homes while Davao City is on lockdown were Vice Ganda, Aiza Seguerra and Marian Rivera.
With their own post in social media using #PrayforDavaoCity and #Prayfor Davao, some celebrities are united in praying for the safety of everyone due to the deadly night market bombing on Saturday.
