Boxing champ Sen. Manny Pacquiao admitted on Monday, to his fellow senators that he had once used illegal drugs before but realized that it wouldn't do him any good so he stopped.
According to Pacquiao: “Hindi ko dine-deny na tumikim din ako ng mga ganyan pero doon ko na-realize lahat na hindi talaga maganda.”
Pacquiao earlier admitted that he had used illegal drugs as a teen. He said that his own experience as a reformed drug user is the reason why he supported President Duterte's war on drugs.
“This is the first time, sa buong buhay ko, napakasaya ko sa sarili ko dahil itong administration na ito ang unang talagang head on dito sa problema ng illegal drugs,” he said.
“Kailangan ‘pag sinabi ng ating pangulo na stop, talagang walang droga dito bansa, talagang walang droga dito sa bansa at yan ay suportado ko ang advocacy ng pangulo (Duterte),” Pacquiao added.
