Eat Bulaga host Paolo Ballesteros is now in Japan for "Die Beautiful," an independent film which screens at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival.
Paolo stars in this film as a transwoman. He transformed into a Hollywood shining star for the filmfest's red carpet event. He made heads turn when Paolo walked the res carpet as Angelina Jolie. The said film was directed by Percy Intalan.
Four other Filipino films are part of this film fest in Japan: Lav Diaz's Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis, Ivan Andrew Payawal's I America, Mikhail Red's Birdshot, and Brillante Mendoza's Shiniuma (Dead Horse) which is part of an omnibus film.
The Tokyo IFF is ongoing until November 3, 2016.
According to Paolo in his previous interview with PEP.ph, he revealed that he shot a love scene with a guy for this film about a transwoman named Trisha Echevarria.
Paolo posted in his Instagram account his photo and provided the caption: "Mga dabarkads sa Roponggi Japan! Maglalakad na si Angelina sa red carpet!!! Tara na!! #DIEbeautiful"
