A 65-year old Bangladesh cleaner named Nazer al-Islam Abdul Karim who was working in Saudi Arabia was ridiculed and went viral on social media.

An Instagram user uploaded his photo on social media with a caption: 'This man deserves to only look at rubbish.' In the photo, the man can be seen staring into a jewellers' window. Of course, it was something he couldn't afford and all he could do was just to look at the jewelries. The prices of the jewelries were definitely out of his reach for he only received a monthly salary of $187 (700 Saudi Riyal)—an amount not even enough to feed himself.
The post was meant to ridicule the cleaner, but netizens thought otherwise. An outpouring of support for the cleaner ensued and Abdullah Al-Qahtani, who has a Twitter account called ‘Ensaneyat’—‘Humanitarianism’ in Arabic—set out to find him.
Al-Qahtani's tweet was shared more than 6,500 times and users were able to identify the cleaner's location from the reflection of the shop window in the photo.
Netizens immediately gave him gifts to help him. Among those gifts were a gold set, an iPhone7, a Samsung Galaxy S7, large sums of money and bags of rice and honey.
Karim told CNN: ‘I was just doing my job as a cleaner in the municipality and found myself in front of the gold shop. I am very happy about the gifts and very thankful.’
