An old man went to a cellphone shop to buy a phone because he wanted to contact his children. He had difficult time picking out a unit as he had limited funds to buy a phone.
Apple Jane Cardenas, the saleslady in charge patiently helped the old man and prioritized him.
When the old man settled for a unit that had a screen large enough for him to clearly see the letters, the saleslady told him that the price of the unit is P1,399. However, he has only P1,040 which he had collected by caroling.
They counted the old man's many coins but these only totalled P179 leaving him with a balance of P180.
Seing the old man's dilemma, the other customers began to pitch in coins to help him buy the cellphone. Some gave P20, while someone even gave P100, another gave P10, but they still lack P50.
The saleslady, at this point paid the remaining P50 and even gave the old man a free simcard.
Everyone else in the shop was happy for the effort of helping the old man. The saleslady cannot explain the joy of the old man must have felt when he finally got his hands on the cellphone.
The old man expressed how happy he was that he could now text his children and even see them on Facebook.
