PNP Chief 'Bato' Dela Rosa Attended Matteo Guidicelli's Movie Premiere

On Friday night, January 20, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa had attended Kapamilya actor Matteo Guidicelli's movie premiere in Uptown Mall Cinemas in Taguig. Matteo portrays a Muslim member of the Special Action Force (SAF) tasked to investigate human trafficking syndicate.

The PNP Chief turned out for the first showing of "Across the Crescent Moon," a film that also stars Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Gabby Concepcion, Ivan Carapiet, SandyAndolong and Joem Bascon.

Dela Rosa was criticized over his appearance on the premiere night but he told reporters at the sidelines that he only decided to go because he was invited.

He added that the film could serve as a timely reminder of the heroics of the 44 policemen who were killed in an anti-terror operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao in January 2015.

Meanwhile, the Kapamilya actor expressed his gratitude towards the PNP chief for accepting their invitation.

According to Matteo: "We're very honored to represent the SAF and PNP Police and we're so honored to have sir Bato here with us, that he allowed us to do this film. I hope he enjoys it."

The movie will be released on Wednesday, January 25 for the second anniversary of the Mamasapano clash.
