Li Lin a 63-year old man from Chengdu, China left with seven holes in his back after undergoing cupping therapy as treatment for his “frozen shoulder”.
He said: 'He had been undergoing treatment everyday from May 22 to June 20 in the hope of treating his “ frozen shoulder'. feel better.
Li said he went for the treatment every day in Chengdu, and his therapist placed the cups in the same position on his back.
After 10 days he reportedly began to notice blisters on his back, but convinced the treatment would cure his aching shoulder, Li asked his wife to pop the blisters and rub an oil on his back.

After a therapeutic cupping treatment on June 20 , Li started experiencing severe pain on his back and experience discomfort.. His family rushed him to the hospital following the incident.
The doctors then revealed horrifying circular wounds on his back that had started to fester. Li Lin was already suffering from high fever and bacterial infection.
Doctors ordered Li to stop his cupping therapy and he was given treatment for his wounds.
Reports quoting doctors said Li could have suffered from serious infections had he not checked himself into hospital in time.
