Terrorist group al-Shabab attacked on a popular hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia, Saturday, at least 14 people were killed.
The BBC reported that at least four gunmen were involved in the attack on the Nasa-Hablod hotel. The Islamic extremist group al-Shabab first detonated a car bomb outside of the hotel and then moved inside and began firing. The attackers randomly shot the guest.
The attackers "took positions behind blast walls and sandbags," said police captain Mohamed Hussein.
Victims are believed to include hotel staff, security and civilians; some of the attackers were also killed in a gun fight with security. The Naso-Hablod hotel is often visited by politicians and tourists.
The attack comes during Ramadan, a Muslim holy month. Extremists often step up terror attacks during Ramadan globally and in Somalia.
Al-Shabab also claimed responsibility for another attack on a Somali hotel that killed 10 earlier this month.
