A German Shepherd dog named Buddy was caught on a police cruiser's dashboard camera, leading them from the main road back to his owner's house. The State Troopers followed the dog and when they arrived at the end of the road they saw this burning house.
Benjamin Heinrichs was in a family workshop when a heater ignited chemicals and started a fire. Buddy, his dog was aware of the danger and rushed out of the workshop to look for help.
The police responded to the call, thanks to the dog they found them and guided them to the burning house.
Benjamin suffered minor flash burns on his face. The workshop was destroyed and some of the window trim on the house was damaged.
The State Troopers are presenting a special award to the dog and will receive an engraved silver-plated dog bowl.
