President Duterte's portrait has been displayed alongside Indonesian President Joko Widodo's at Indonesia's National Museum in Central Jakarta, Indonesia as the country awaits his arrival.
President Duterte will be flying to Indonesia late Thursday after attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Vientiane, Laos. He will meet the Filipino community Friday morning and will meet the Indonesian president in the afternon.
He is expected to discuss the case of Mary Jane Veloso, a convicted overseas Filipino worker, the war on drugs and addressing terrorism with his Indonesian counterpart.
Indonesia is President Duterte's second stop in his neighboring Southeast Asian countries for his first international travel as head of state.
