President Duterte on Tuesday morning in a speech before the Filipino community in Laos, warned the terrorist Abu Sayyaf group that he could also be ruthless and barbaric as they are or even worse. He said that he could also be a cannibal and eat the Abu Sayyaf members with only "vinegar and salt" to spice up his fare.
“That’s true. If you annoy me to the fullest… I will eat you alive. Raw,” he said, eliciting chuckles from his audience, who included children.
Gano’n ako kasi, ewan ko, siguro baka Moro man ang lola ko, Maranao. Ang tatay ko siguro ang wakwak,” said Duterte.
Referring to the Abu Sayyaf, he said: “Go ahead. Set off bombs. Time will come when I will eat you in front of the people. I will devour you and if I have to, erase you.”
President Duterte asked the audience to give him two or three months to crush the Abu Sayyaf group and vowed to leave no coconut tree standing in their home base in Sulu.
Duterte said he was the only politician who is capable of fighting the terrorist group in their own terms.
