After the violent dispersal of the protesters in front of the US Embassy on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 60 policemen were relieved from their posts.
According to the PNP, no one will get hurt in the protest rally if the militant groups did not raise violence.
NCRPO Chief Oscar Albayalde defended Manila policemen despite a series of tirades regarding the violent dispersal. He said never in the history happened that PNP will start violence. PNP will not tolerate what happened, guilty authorities will receive sanctions.
Two video footages were released by the MPD to prove that the protesters were the first to start violence against the authorities.
Another rally were conducted by protesters in Welcome, Rotonda and Mendiola on Friday, October 21 to charge the policemen involved in the violent dispersal. They were ready to file a case against PNP.
While the investigation was still going on, 60 policemen were relieved from their posts, including 8 officials and PO3 Franklin Kho who drives the police mobile.
According to MPD District Director, Senior Superintendent Joel Coronel, sanctions will impose to the guilty police officers and PNP will not tolerate what they did.
