An electrician from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire named Andy Whelan shared on his Facebook a black and white photo of his 4-year old daughter who had an illness, to show others the 'true face of cancer.' According to him, this is the hardest photo he has taken.
“This is the true face of cancer, my baby girl’s blood vessels protruding from beneath her skin, a solitary tear running down her cheek, her body stiffened and her face contorted in pain,” Andy added.
Jessica was fighting stage 4 neuroblastoma for 13 months, and now given just two weeks to live after Andy and his partner Nicki Prendergast had decided to stop treatment in a bid to allow Jessica to enjoy whatever time she has got left.
Andy took this picture of Jessica in October at the moment 'where we as parents could offer her no comfort.' Jessica's face contorted in pain and tears streaming down her face, she has just weeks left to live.
Andy wants to raise awareness of childhood cancer, which is why he was sharing a picture of Jessica during her final weeks.
His Facebook post had more than 7,600 reactions.
