Snakes, as we all know, are elongated, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder serpentes that have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads with their highly mobile jaws while spiders are air-breathing anthropods that have 8 legs and chelicarae with fangs that inject venom.
These two creatures are most likely give us nightmares for both of these are venomous, nasty-looking predators that have long associated with evil and witchcraft.
These creatures symbolize strength. Arachnids represent mystery, power, and growth while serpents typify healing, transformation, rebirth, life, force and primal energy.
