The Kapamilya actress and singer Sue Ramirez has been named South Korea's newest honorary ambassador for tourism. She is replacing Jessy Mendiola, also a Kapamilya actress.

The Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) held a ceremonial appointment for Sue in Makati City on Monday, December 19.

Sue expressed her gratitude for the opportunity as well as her interest and fascination for the Korean culture. According to her: “I’m truly fortunate sa dami ng artista ako ang napili nila to be the honarary ambassador for Korean tourism dito sa Pilipinas. Sobrang blessed ng pakiramdam at sobrang excited na ako sa kailangan kong gawin. I promise to give my best to be a great ambassadress for Korea tourism.”
Sue was excited to go to Korea for the first time. She said she would like to visit Jeju and also expressed interest in Korean food.
The director of KTO Manila, Inshik Park said Sue was chosen for the position because of her interest in Korean culture and its people.
"She has great image. She's also interested in Korea, that's why we chose her and she agreed. We are very happy," Park said.

Sue will travel to South Korea to experience their culture and share it on her social media accounts, such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The actress will serve as KTO's ambassador for December 2016 until November 2018.

When ask for her reaction that she is replacing Jessy Mendiola, Sue replied: "Hindi naman mapapalitan si Jessy. Siguro something new, something different at magkaiba naman kaming tao. Kung ano ang na-offer ni Ate Jessy, I'm sure talagang satisfied ang KTO. Ngayon something new lang siguro ang hinahanap nila at nandito ako para i-offer 'yon sa kanila."
