Boy Tapang Apologizes to BSP for Paper Kite Stunt

Social media personality Boy Tapang found himself in hot water after a video of him flying a kite made of P1,000 bills caught the attention of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

In a public apology posted on Facebook, Boy Tapang expressed regret over his actions and acknowledged the seriousness of disrespecting currency.

"Gusto ko lang po humingi ng sorry sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas dahil doon sa ginawa ko…Hindi ko po intensyon na paglaruan ang pera dahil ako po ay galing sa mahirap so ‘yung pera ay malaking value sa akin. Pinapahalagahan ko po ang pera,"

"I want to apologize to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for what I did... It was never my intention to play with money because I come from a poor background, so money holds great value for me. I value money," he said.

Boy Tapang explained that he only wanted to entertain people with his content and did not anticipate the potential legal repercussions of his actions.

"Ginawa ko po ‘yung content for entertainment purposes only. Kasi naisipan ko pag gagawa ako ng normal na saranggola na gawa sa plastik lang, napa-common na,"

"I made the content for entertainment purposes only. I thought making a kite out of plastic would be too common," he added.

To demonstrate his sincerity in apologizing, Boy Tapang promptly deleted the controversial video from his social media platforms.

He also requested those who reposted the video to remove it to avoid further investigation.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting legal tender and the consequences of actions that may undermine its value.
