Tragic Accident: Philippine Navy Helicopter Crash Claims Two Lives in Cavite City



Two Philippine Navy personnel lost their lives in a devastating helicopter crash that occurred on Thursday morning, April 11, in Cavite City. The tragic incident unfolded at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the Draga reclamation area of Barangay 57.


According to reports from the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) and AFP Radio DWDD, the official radio station of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the crash claimed the lives of a male pilot and a female co-pilot. Despite efforts to rush them to the hospital, both succumbed to their injuries shortly after.


Eyewitnesses residing near the crash site, adjacent to the public market, recounted hearing a loud noise before witnessing the helicopter's descent.


“Narinig namin, may malakas na pagbagsak mga ilang meters lang ang layo sa amin. Tapos may natakbo, mga tambay sa palengke. May helicopter daw na bumagsak kaya agad kami nagpunta (We heard a loud crash just a few meters away from us. Then, someone ran towards us, the bystanders at the market said that a helicopter had crashed, so we immediately went to the site),” shared resident Rickson Jay De Guzman.



Authorities are now actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident, including scrutinizing the flight plan of the Robinson R22 trainer helicopter involved.


The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and the entire Philippine Navy, mourning the loss of two dedicated servicemen. As investigations continue, condolences pour in for the families and loved ones of the deceased, and the nation stands in solidarity with the Philippine Navy during this difficult time.
