Actress Yasmien Kurdi recently opened up about the heartbreaking experiences of her 12-year-old daughter, Ayesha Zara, who has reportedly been a victim of bullying both in school and online.
In a social media post, Yasmien revealed how Ayesha was targeted by 7-9 classmates inside the classroom. These students allegedly prevented Ayesha from leaving the room, took her food, and did not allow her to join recess. The situation worsened when Ayesha became the subject of an online “Ayesha Hate Club,” which severely affected her emotional well-being.
The actress shared that this bullying has been ongoing since Ayesha was in grade two, with incidents escalating over time. One particular event even involved someone filming Ayesha without permission, contributing to her paranoia and anxiety. To help her recover, Yasmien decided to let her daughter take a break and go on vacation.
Yasmien expressed her frustration over how some parents of the alleged bullies defended their children and tried to shift the blame onto Ayesha. The actress, however, vowed to stand by her daughter and ensure that she is protected. In her post, she emotionally wrote:
“I’m so sorry, Ayesha. You have to go through all of this because I am your mom. But I will always be here for you. I will protect you with all my life. You are beautiful inside and out.”
During a media conference for her upcoming series, The Missing Husband, Yasmien shared more details about the issue, emphasizing how cyberbullying has also played a significant role. She recounted how a group of students attempted to recruit others to join the “Ayesha Hate Club.” Thankfully, one of Ayesha’s best friends intervened by renaming the group to “Ayesha Fan Club,” turning the situation into a positive moment.
Reflecting on the incident, Yasmien told her daughter:
“Not everyone will like you. Just like in StarStruck, you can’t please everybody. You have to be strong. Life is like that, but remember, I’ll always be here for you.”
Yasmien also shared how she actively seeks fair resolutions to the problem. She requested the school to ensure that Ayesha and the bullies are not placed in the same section to avoid a repeat of the stressful events. Additionally, the school arranged counseling sessions to address the matter.
Despite the challenges, Yasmien is proud of her daughter’s resilience. She said, “Ayesha has a very positive outlook on life. She’s even more optimistic than me. She doesn’t let these things bring her down.”
Apart from dealing with bullying, Ayesha continues to excel as a talented young individual. She enjoys singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. While Yasmien supports her daughter’s dreams, she prioritizes Ayesha’s education before considering any ventures into show business.
As Yasmien’s latest action-suspense drama The Missing Husband premieres on August 28, the actress remains steadfast in her role as a mother, ensuring Ayesha grows up in a safe and supportive environment.
