Istanbul Airport Attack: Turkish PM says ISIS behind explosions that killed at least 36- latest update


ISTANBUL — At least 36people reportedly been killed and  wounded more than 147 in an apparent terror attack on Istanbul Ataturk Airport –Turkey’s largest airport and a major transport hub for International Travellers.


Three bomb blasts shook the arrivals area of  Istanbul Ataturk Airport.  One assailant set off a bomb.  The police fired shot in an effort to stop them.  The two other a attackers blew themselves  up outside-one near the entrance and one in a parking lot, the official said.




Turkey’s prime minister has said the attack was carried out by agents of Daesh -using the Arabic term for Isis - but the terror network has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.


--Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for a unified international fight against terrorism, saying: "Make no mistake: For terrorist organizations, there is no difference between Istanbul and London, Ankara and Berlin, Izmir and Chicago or Antalya and Rome. Unless all government and the entire mankind join forces in the fight against terrorism, much worse things than what we fear to imagine today will come true."
