Two alleged leaders of Abu Sayyaf group behind Sabah kidnap-for-ransom were killed in a military operation in Tambulian Island, Daungdung, Pata, Sulu.
According to Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Maj. Filemon Tan, identified the fatalities as Nixon and Muktadil Muktadil Brown, better known as Muktadil brothers.
Tan said the two, who were armed, resisted arrest and were shot in a military offensive against the group. Their remains are expected to be transported to the Sulu Provincial Police Office in Jolo, Sulu for proper burial according to Muslim rites.
Tan also added that because of the death of the two reduced forces of Abu Sayyaf leader Alhabsy lights up because the brothers serves as guide and navigator to be conducted by the abduction of the ocean.

Abu Sayyaf group still holds at least six more Indonesians and five Malaysians, including a Dutch national, and four Filipino hostages all in Sulu.
“The two Muktadil brothers are the leaders and the architect and expert navigators conducting the kidnappings of foreign nationals in the border of Malaysia,” it quoted Tan, who described their deaths as a major blow to the Abu Sayyaf group.
