'Mobile Kilay Salon' Owned By 78-Year Old Grandpa Runs From His 15-Year Old Bike. He Fixes Eyebrows, Offers Haircuts And Sells Ice Buko If You Get Thirsty

A 'mobile kilay salon' is making rounds in social media sites. It is the latest venture of the 78-year old grandpa Leonito Lopez who rides in his 15-year old bike with a sign saying "Nag-aayus ng kilay."

Armed with a pink-framed mirror, Leonito rides his bike through the rural General Tinio town in Nueva Ecija. The mobile kilay salon  also offers haircuts and sells ice buko if you get thirsty while he fixes your eyebrows.

In his interview in DZMM's My Puhunan, Leonito who is a father of six said that his mobile parlor business is his way to earn for a living. According to him: “Kailangan mag-sipag. Kung hindi ka mag-sipag ay gutom ang kalabasan mo [You have to be hardworking. If you’re not, you’ll go hungry. Yun  ang pinakamarangal na hanapbuhay, kasi hindi naman ako nakapag-aral [It’s the most honorable job, because I wasn’t able to finish school],” he said.

Leonito takes pride in starting his business with just an old pair of scissors.  "Yun ang pinakamarangal na hanapbuhay, kasi hindi naman ako nakapag-aral [It's the most honorable job, because I wasn't able to finish school]," he said.

At present, Leonito's mobile kilay salon is earning about P300-P600 per day which he runs from his 15-year old bike. His mobile parlor business is indeed a great escape from loneliness.
