An online campaign requesting to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) back to its original name, Manila International Airport (MIA) has gained support from online users.
Facebook users have been sharing posters recently, demanding that NAIA be renamed back to MIA.
Supporters of the idea argued that when the airport was named MIA, it has the status of being the “world class and number one airport in Asia”. When its name was changed to NAIA, it eventually became the “worst airport in the world.”
NAIA needs improvements and change its management, they added. Netizens said that NAIA should shake off its 'jinx' as one of the worst airports in the world by having its name be back to MIA.
