Toni Gonzaga gave birth to her first baby named Severiano Elliot, with director Paul Soriano on September 30, Friday at 5:23 a.m.
According to her director-husband: "Toni wanted a normal delivery and she fought for it. She fought for it. I mean 38 hours of labor and about almost three hours of pushing," Paul told TV Patrol in an exclusive interview.
"There was even times there she was kind of passing out na. When she’s fully dilated already, the head was coming out. The last few pushes was really tougher," he added.
Paul also shared the story behind their baby's name. "Toni trusted me with that. I chose the name Severiano because my favorite golfer is Severiano Ballesteros, a Spanish golfer. And then Elliot is from 'E.T.', from the lead character in 'E.T.' My favorite movie. The reason why I like films," he explained.
Meanwhile, television host-actress Alex Gonzaga, Toni's sister, couldn't help but gush over her newborn nephew. On her Instagram account, she posted a photo of her sister's first baby with Paul.
"No bias but baby SEVE is the cutest baby in the world," she wrote as the caption. "Sa wakas at nairi ka na ni inang ate."
Toni and Paul have been a couple for more than eight years before getting married in June 2015.
