5-Foot Long Tapeworm Pulled Out Of A Guy's Nose By Doctor Has Gone Viral

Tapeworms are parasites that can live in a person's intestines (bowel). They are known medically as cestodes. They are usually flat and ribbon-like and made up of segment.

Tapeworms don't always cause symptoms and when they do they are often mistaken for another illness.

In this video, a 5-foot long tapeworm is being pulled out of an Australian man's nose by a doctor. As the tapeworm is removed from the guy's nose with a pair of scissors, he grunts in pain, muttering, "It's so uncomfortable." It took a horrifying 30 seconds before the tapeworm extraction reached the end.

People usually contract tapeworms from eating undercooked meat of infected animals. Often people with tapeworms suffer few symptoms such as loss of weight and malnutrition.

If left untreated in human, the patient's life may be in danger as the infection can affect key areas of the organ.
