Shannara Mica Guira Tamayao became an inspiration to young ones. She is the daughter of an empanada vendor and welder who pursues in her studies in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
In GMA News "24 Oras" on Thursday, it has been reported that poverty does not hinder her to finish the nursing course and placed 10th in the board exam.
Her parents were so happy that they were able to let their daughter finished her studies by means of selling empanada and by being a welder.
Shannara was a consistent honor student from elementary up to high school. Being the eldest daughter, Shannara wanted to uplift her family from poverty.
She plans to take the National Council Licensure exam and Masteral Degree before applying for a job.
