A Paraguayan cowboy named Wagner Lima, died on New Year's Day 2017 in a traffic accident in Brazil. He has a horse named Sereno and had considered each other the best of friends for so many years.
Wagner's family and friends were saddened by his loss, but his horse still didn't know what happened to him.
Wando, Wagner's brother instantly knew that the horse should be at the funeral, right alongside his human friends and family members.
According to Wando: “This horse was everything to him. It was as if the horse knew what was happening and wanted to say goodbye.”
Wando led the emotional march to his brother's final resting place. The horse marched with them and was close enough to the casket that he was able to pick Wagner's scent.
Sereno breaks down and lays his head on the casket when he realized that it was Wagner who was inside the casket. Everybody in the funeral could feel the sadness of the horse as he made one last march with his friend.
Wagner's brother said he will now be taking care of the horse in his brother's honor.
