On premiere episode of the celebrity kids edition of "Your Face Sounds Familiar" on Saturday, January 7, Awra Briguela, a child star who is known for his impressive comedic timing and stint on "Ang Probinsyano," had impersonated Mommy Dionisia, the mother of boxing superstar Manny Pacquaio.
Awra, who emerged from the backstage, donning prosthetics and makeup that made him look like an eerily tiny version of Mommy D sings "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus.
The child actor started singing in Mommy D's patented raspy voice and broke out some ballroom dancing skills.
Awra's hilarious performance on stage left very little to criticize for the judges. Sharon Cuneta said: “I know you are talented but what you did tonight is fantastic, you really copied Mommy Dionisia. Entertainment value is 150%.”
“All I can say is OMG! The first time I saw your video, I know you will be a star. I’m excited for and and we love you,” said Gary Valenciano. Gary also pointed out that he wanted to hear Awra's "real singing voice" in future episodes.
Meanwhile, Ogie Alcasid said: “Entertainment value is great. I was in awe.”
Among the other performers of the night were Xia Vigor as Selena Gomez singing ‘Love You Like a Love Song,’Elha Nympha as Beyonce with ‘Love On Top’ and Justin Alva as Michael Jackson with ‘Beat It.’
