Philmar Alipayo Breaks Silence on Viral Video Amidst Social Media Stir

Content creator and professional surfer Philmar Alipayo has finally addressed the viral video that recently sparked controversy online. In an interview with Boy Abunda, Philmar shared his side of the story regarding the footage where he was seen conversing with a woman, identified as content creator Crissa Liaging.

According to Boy Abunda, Philmar clarified that the video, which created a stir on social media, was taken out of context. “What happened was, uminom si Philmar, had a friendly conversation with this girl on the video and that’s it,” Boy relayed from his conversation with Philmar.

Philmar and his fiancée, actress Andi Eigenmann, initially found the video amusing but were disturbed by how it was edited and shared to create a scandal. “What bothered them, it was edited and uploaded to create an issue,” Boy explained.

Andi Eigenmann also weighed in on the issue, defending Philmar's right to socialize freely. She criticized the deliberate manipulation of the video to generate controversy and attract attention on social media. “He can go out with his friends, go drinking every once in a while, and chat with whoever he wants. No harm in that,” Andi stated. She emphasized that the shameful act was the intentional posting and editing of the video to disturb their peace and drag them into negativity.

Philmar Alipayo, known for his accomplishments in the surfing world, made history as the first Filipino champion at the Philippine Surfing Championship Tour (PSCT) after winning the 19th Siargao National Surfing Cup in 2017. He and Andi have been in a relationship for several years and have children together.

Boy Abunda also shared a teaser of his interview with Andi Eigenmann for the program My Mother, My Story. He revealed that Philmar’s candid explanation about the viral video provided clarity and a sense of relief for the couple amidst the social media frenzy.
