Angelica Yulo to Fake Account Creators: 'Sana manahimik na lang po kayo' and Apologizes to Son

Angelica Yulo, the mother of double Olympic champion Carlos Yulo, recently conveyed heartfelt messages regarding two significant issues: the creation of fake social media accounts in her name and a public feud with her son.

Addressing Fake Accounts

During a press conference held on Wednesday, August 7, Angelica Yulo expressed her distress over the proliferation of fake social media accounts using her identity. She urged those responsible to cease their actions, emphasizing the importance of spreading positivity instead of harm.

“Sa mga gumagawa po ng fake accounts po, maging masaya na lang po tayo, ‘no. Huwag po kayong manira ng tao na hindi n’yo naman kilala at wala po kayong alam sa buong mga pangyayari,” she stated.

She continued by pleading for silence and caution, asking people to avoid creating fake accounts that misappropriate pictures and posts.

Apologizing to Her Son

In the same press conference, Angelica Yulo, accompanied by lawyer Raymond Fortun, publicly apologized to her son, Carlos Yulo, for the recent feud that had drawn public attention. She reiterated the importance of resolving their issues privately.

"Son, I am sorry. I know others would think that I'm only speaking because of your success," she addressed her son in Filipino. "I am asking for your forgiveness because I'm just a mother that's only worried... You are already mature and you can make your own decisions. Our door is always open, whether you have money or not. I cannot take back what I said. But your father and I are ready to talk with understanding, any time you are ready when you get home to fix this," she added.

Angelica acknowledged that their personal issues should remain private, as outsiders cannot fully understand the complexities involved. She also apologized to the Filipino people for her statements in previous interviews, attributing them to the exhaustion and stress from watching her son compete in the Paris Olympics.

Moving Towards Healing

Angelica expressed her desire for healing within their family, praying for the wounds between her and her son to heal. She highlighted that the pain had been lingering in her heart for a long time and hoped for it to lessen.

"We're good, as healing is what I'm also praying so that the pain would lessen... I wanted the pain to go, especially that it's been in my heart for a long time," she said.

Carlos Yulo, speaking from Paris on Tuesday, had previously discussed issues regarding his finances, personal attacks on his girlfriend, and other matters. He called on his mother to heal and to celebrate his Olympic victories together.

Through these statements, Angelica Yulo aimed to address misunderstandings, seek reconciliation, and call for a more respectful and supportive environment, both online and within their family.
