A Seven Year Old Kid Picked “The Voice Kids” Coach as his Mentor But Did Not Turn His Chair For Him

Matthew Joshua Esconde, a seven year old kid from Olongapo City picked a coach as his mentor in the singing competition “The Voice Kids Philippines” Season 3 Blind Auditions, June 4, 2016, but did not turn his chair for him. Matthew sang “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction.

Matthew snubbed Lea Salonga and Sharon Cuneta as his coach and opted Bamboo Manalac as his mentor.

Sharon says: “You are so good. Join my team please.  I will take care of you – your performance, dancing- I will teach everything to you” while Lea told Matthew: “I enjoyed your performance. From the intro – I heard the voice, charm and appeal.

But according to Bamboo, whom Matthew had chosen to be his mentor: Thank you very much for picking me Matthew but I’m sorry hindi ako nakaikot  para sa iyo. Hindi ako umikot kasi masaya ako na umikot na silang dalawa.

Matthew joined Cabanatuan native Natalie Zorena Martinez. Bamboo and Sharon added 10-year old Yohance Buie and Justin John Ava of Lucena City.

“The Voice Kids Philippines” airs on Saturdays and Sundays and hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Kim Chiu.
