The dog is indeed as a man’s best friend, and this Doberman proves that description to be true. In a fight till death, a Doberman fought four cobras courageously in order to save his human family.
“I’m shocked. He has made the supreme sacrifice for me and my family. I will remember him till our death. I pray God – May his soul rest in peace,” said Dibakar Raita, the owner of the brave Doberman.
Raita and his family, who lives in the village of Sebekapur in the Gajapati district, India, are still reeling from the shock of the incident.
The snakes which the Doberman fought against were identified as mountain cobras. Different kinds of reptiles are seen in the region especially during the monsoon when the animals’ nests become filled with rainwater.
On a Monday evening, the four snakes were trying to get into family’s house when the loyal Doberman who was guarding the entrance gate challenged them and tried to prevent them from entering the peaceful home. Eyewitnesses said that the fight went on for a while and blood was shed during the fight.
Despite being bitten several times, the loyal Doberman did not stop fighting until it had killed each of the 4 dangerous snakes. Minutes after the fight, the dog collapsed and died after protecting his owners due to the cobras’ venom.
The villagers laid floral wreaths on the body of the slain dog and held a funeral procession before burying it.
Doberman dogs are known for being loyal and protective of their owners, risking their lives to protect their human families.
