Mariel Rodriguez, a television host of ABS-CBN's "It's Showtime", and the wife of action star Robin Padilla had been suffered from two miscarriages in a year. She first suffered a miscarriage in March last year then she lost a triplets pregnancy six months later.
Now, Mariel is on her third pregnancy. She is undergoing a "painful" heparin treatment to boost her chances of giving birth.
In an interview with Mariel's husband, action star Robin Padilla, he was asked on the condition of Mariel and if she has plans to take a break. According to Robin, it is actually the happiness of Mariel when she is working that allows her to forget her tragic two miscarriages and face her pregnancy in a positive attitude.
Robin expressed his gratitude towards ABS-CBN for giving Mariel hosting stints on "It's Showtime" and the upcoming season of "Pinoy Big Brother". Robin admitted that he still doesn't know the gender of their baby. It doesn't matter to him if she is a girl, a boy, bakla, tomboy. What is important to him is for the baby to be normal.
