Bayezid Hossain, a 4-year old Bangladesh kid has been born with an incredibly rare condition that left him looking like an 80-year old man.
Bayezid had a swollen face and a sagging, wrinkled skin -- like of a man that had lived up for decades. The boy's appearance and a rare genetic disorder called "Progeria" to which aging symptoms manifest at an early stage, and "Cutis Laxa," a rare skin disease that affects the connective tissues in the body. He had also difficulties passing urine and already has weak and broken teeth.
Bayezid's disease scares kids of his age. He cannot play like a normal kid does because of his disease. But despite his physical appearance, he had an intelligent mind which outshines other kids. His physical growth is completely abnormal but mentally, he has wonderful conversation, very aware and is very intuitive for his age.
Tripti Khatun, Bayezid's mother was frightened when she gave birth to him at the age of 14. She said that the baby was all skin and bones and looked like an alien. She said that her son only learned to walk aged three but he had a full set of teeth at three months old.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure yet for Progeria and Cutis Laxa disease as of today. Doctors had no idea what to do. They said they had never seen such a baby like Bayezid. They told everyone that there is nothing they can do about the disease. People inflicted with the said genetic disorder cannot live for more than 15 years.
Bayezid doesn't go to school but he loves to play with his ball, drawing on paper, and even breaking his toys so he can fix them back up again.
His father, Lovelu Hossain said they had been to hospitals, shrines, fakirs, shamans -- whoever suggested whatever, yet his son is probably getting even worse day by day.
