European Leaders To Fund With 9.1 Trillion Euros For A Bullet Train In The Philippines

Today, the possibility of having Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao connected each other with an efficient bullet train system is finally within our reach.

A contruction of a high-speed "bullet train" will be funded by European leaders with 9.1 trillion euros. If the project would be approved and implemented by President Duterte's Administration, Filipinos would be able to travel safely on different parts of the country without using modes of transportation such as airplanes and ships -- a cheaper and faster way to travel.

Retired Colonel Rodrigo Bonifacio, a think tank for the Duterte administration, said these European investors offered the said funding to former President Noynoy Aquino but the negotiations did not pursue as according to Bonifacio as claimed by the Europeans, there is about 40% kickback being asked for them.

The government still has no statement regarding this issue.
