Hiroki Ogita, a Japanese pole vaulter, was so close to clearing the bar during his pole vault jump at the 2016 Rio Olympics on August 18, when his manhood got in the way of his potential victory.
He was attempting to clear a height of 5.3 metres in group A of the first round of the pole vault, when his leg came in contact with the bar. Then, it was his manhood that caused the bar to shake and eventually fall.
Video footage showed the crushing moment the 28-year old was let down by his trouser friend.
However, Hiroki did clear his “second attempt” at the jump, making an impressive “height of 5.45 meters (17.8 feet) for his last,” the Post mentioned, but sadly it landed him in “21st place.” This was the unfortunate end to his stay in the Rio games.
