President Duterte Conducts Aerial Inspection Of Flooded Areas Brought By Habagat

President Duterte on Monday conducted an aerial inspection of flooded-areas due to southwest monsoon (habagat) over the past days both in Metro Manila and near suburban areas.

Duterte boarded on a chopper over Metro Manila, Marikina, and Laguna to see the current status and the extent of the damage on Pasig and Marikina rivers as well as La Mesa Dam - as per PTV-4 or People's television which is operated by the state.

Duterte was accompanied by National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ricardo Jalad, and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go during his aerial inspection.

During the briefing, the President was informed that the heavy monsoon rains and floods have so far displaced over 19,000 families. They are currently housed in 104 evacuation centers.

President Duterte instructed the DSWD to give priority on the safety of the public and make sure that all relief and family packs are available for the remaining evacuees.
