Davao City Mayor and presidential daughter Inday Sara Duterte on Friday said that she was seven weeks pregnant with triplets.
In a statement read by Jefry Tupas, the city information officer, Inday Sara said her pregnancy was "delicate" which was the reason why she was rarely seen in public these days. She explained her absence during the festivities at Kadayawan 2016, while announcing the First Family's newest blessings.
“…They are doing well on their 7th week…..I am having a hard time with the symptoms as well as the complications of a multifetal pregnancy,” her statement reads.
Despite her "delicate" pregnancy, Inday Sara vows to continue working and perform her functions as city mayor as long as her health permits.
But she apologized if she would not be often seen in crowded places as her doctor advised her “to lessen the chances of acquiring infections."
The mayor assured her constituents, saying, "I maybe physically weak but rest assured that I am on top of the situation here in our city."
Inday Sara is married to Manases Carpio, a lawyer and this is her third pregnancy.
