Senator Leila De Lima denies the recent issue that she personally knows suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa. She made the vehement denial following the release of her photo posing with the supposed Kerwin Espinosa. She can't even remember when was the photo taken.
According to Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido, the Albuera chief of police, the picture of Sen. De Lima with Kerwin Espinosa was included in Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa' affidavit. In a news conference on Tuesday, members of Congress, including a senator, were involved in illegal drugs.
I don’t know him, I can’t remember that,” said De Lima.
“Maybe this is during the election campaign. I don’t remember this, honestly. I don’t know Espinosa even the father. Ang galing-galing talaga nila. Nagka-kalkal sila," she said.
"Nagpa-picture lang yan. Hindi yan one of those arranged meetings," she added.
The senator has repeatedly denied that she was protecting drug dealers when she was Secretary of Justice.
