A protest rally near the US Embassy on Wednesday morning had turned violent and fifty protesters were reportedly injured after Manila policemen dispersed the anti-US rally.
In a video taken by ABS-CBN News reporter Jerome Lantin, activists from Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) and various indigenous groups are seen attacking a police mobile at the height of the protest aimed at stopping "US intervention."
Police retaliated and ran over some protesters, as seen in the video. The police utility vehicle, accelerating both forward and in reverse, hitting several protesters in the process. One protester was trapped beneath the vehicle after run over.

Amirah Lidasan, Secretary-General of Moro-Christian People's Alliance said she was witness to how Senior Supt. Marcelino Pedroso of the Manila Police District (MPD) ordered his men to ram their patrol vehicle against the protesters.
According to Lidasan: "We were in the front line of the rally. The protest was about to end when Col. Pedroso ordered his men to ram their vehicle against us."She said it was the police who attacked the protesters.
At least ten people, including three students were brought to the hospital and 18 indigenous people and a member of the media were arrested and brought to the MPD Headquarters.
Police Officer 3 Franklin Kho, who drove the police van, claimed protesters aimed at the vehicle and attempted to flip it over.
"Inaagaw ng mga raliyista yung sasakyan, kaya napilitan akong kunin yung sasakyan, kaya napaatras ko. Yun ang nangyari. Kami naman ang sasagasaan nila kung nakuha nila ito. Mas marami madidisgrasya sa amin."
Police authorities used tear gas to disperse about 1,000 anti-US protesters, and also made 29 arrests at the protest rally.
