Rufino Tapdasan, an 8-year old boy and a Grade 3 student from Sitio Lower Magdoc in Naga drew the attention of netizens after a video of him singing Christmas carols to people in exchange for money along the Naga Baywalk in Cebu City went viral.
Rufino is doing this to be able to feed his nine-month old baby sister who is living with him and his grandmother. His mother left them while his father is in prison.
Despite the unfortunate situation, Rufino is full of determination to go to school. In fact, he has to walk 40 minutes everyday to get to his school. His teacher said that Rufino is intelligent and good in math. He hopes to become a police officer someday.
