Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva is one of the 86 candidates who competed in the 65th Miss Universe Grand Coronation event at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Monday, January 30.
Miss Bulgaria on Tuesday said that her dress during the Miss Universe pageant -- a navy blue, two-piece top and tulle skirt set from Sherri Hill, an American fashion designer, will go to the daughter of Issay Gallano, a single mom of two who could not afford to buy a beautiful dress for her child to her prom.
According to the beauty queen in a television interview, she gave away the gown she wore to the opening of the preliminary rounds of the Miss Universe pageant because she wanted to share the happiness she felt when she wore that dress.
Violina wanted the next owner of her gown to feel beautiful and happy.
On Monday, Miss Bulgaria posted a photo of the gown on social media as said she wanted to give it to a "girl in need that can't buy a dress for her prom next month."
The beauty queen was flooded with messages and positive comments from fans who praised her for having a kind heart and also for her generosity.
While Violina said she found many candidates for her dress in Miss Universe opening, she chose to give it to a person in Manila as she was flying back home.
