Do you recall that charming young girl from the beloved 2009 "Bulilit, bulilit, sanay sa masikip..." (Sikip) commercial?
Thrisha Luise "Cha-Cha" Cañete, the endearing little girl, caught the eye of talent manager Erik Matti while she was merely four years old, spotted at a coffee shop within the ABS-CBN compound. Initially, she ventured into modeling for Camella Homes, featuring in the catchy tune "Bulilit Sanay Sa Masikip," soon becoming a household name.
Her presence graced the screens regularly through reruns of the children's sketch comedy show, Goin' Bulilit. On October 19, 2019, she showcased her talent by performing Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" in Tawag ng Tanghalan: Celebrity Champions.
Fast forward to June of the following year, Cha-Cha proudly shared her graduation photo from the University of Santo Tomas-Senior High School on Instagram.
Time has swiftly passed, as she celebrated her nineteenth birthday last October and is now pursuing a college education at the Ateneo De Manila University, majoring in AB Diplomacy and International Relations with a Specialization in East and Southeast Asian Studies.
In addition to her academic pursuits, this music enthusiast continues to share her vocal talents with her fans.
About two years ago, she showcased her singing prowess by performing "Agwat" live on the Wish 107.5 Bus, a song penned by veteran composer Jungee Marcelo, exploring themes of reconciliation in relationships.
A few months back, she was featured as a celebrity guest on Bernadette Sembrano's channel, where she provided insights into her life.
During this heart-to-heart with Sembrano, Cha-Cha revealed that her parents ensured she experienced a normal childhood despite her early exposure to showbiz. After seven years as a regular cast member on Goin' Bulilit, she managed to complete her Senior High School education on time and is now pursuing college studies.
Recently, she appeared as a guest on Teleradyo Serbisyo with host Ms. Lyza Aquino, alongside co-guest, Mr. Markybap "Ang Pambansang Rater."
