Chloe San Jose Addresses Controversial Remarks by Carlos Yulo's Father

The ongoing rift between two-time Paris Olympics gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his family has flared up once again, following recent comments by Carlos' father, Mark Andrew Yulo, on social media.

After weeks of silence between the two sides, tensions resurfaced when Mark Andrew commented on separate social media posts related to his son, the champion gymnast. In response to these comments, Carlos’ girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, could no longer hold back and replied to the remarks made by her boyfriend's father.

On Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2024, Carlos Yulo posted an update on Facebook, announcing his upcoming trip to Paris, France, to support athletes competing in the Paris Paralympics 2024. In his post, Carlos expressed excitement about meeting other athletes who have “started their impossible” and looked forward to sharing more about his journey.

Mark Andrew Yulo commented on the post, expressing pride in his son's achievements. However, he also urged Carlos to apologize to his mother, Angelica Yulo, whom Carlos allegedly called a "thief."

Mark's comment read, "Masaya ako sa narating mo nak Pero dapat mag sorry ka sa nanay mo na sinabihan mong magnan4kaw para luminis yang imahen mo."

This statement mirrored a similar comment Mark made on an ABS-CBN News post about Carlos the previous day.

In response, Chloe San Jose, Carlos' girlfriend, hinted that the comment may not have been made by Mark himself but by someone else using his account. Chloe suggested that whoever was behind the comment wanted to bring their family feud into the public eye. She also revealed that Carlos' mother, Angelica, allegedly cursed him before the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Chloe's reply to Mark read, "Pasensya na po kayo tito, alam ko po na hindi po ikaw ang nag-comment nito. Pero kung gusto niyo po talaga ng ganito, bat hindi niyo din po sabihin na sinumpa po siya ni Tita Angge na gagapang si Caloy sa lupa before po siya mag-qualify sa Olympics last year... :))"

Chloe further claimed that Angelica had made a statement declaring that Carlos would never win again, regardless of how many rosaries were sent to him. Despite these challenges, Chloe shared that before Carlos left for the Paris Olympics, Mark gave him words of encouragement, telling him to perform well and that he was praying for his success.

Chloe expressed frustration that despite their repeated apologies and attempts to reconcile with the family, the situation remained unresolved. However, she emphasized that both she and Carlos have forgiven those involved and continue to pray for peace, guidance, and love.

"Matagal na panahon at ilang beses na po kami nag-sorry ni Caloy at nag-try makipag-usap po sa inyong lahat, pero bakit po ganito? Pero wala na po yun tito eh, nakapagpatawad na po kami and we're always praying for you po. God bless us all po, let's all pray na lang po for healing, guidance, and love from HIM," Chloe stated.

As of now, Mark Andrew Yulo has not responded to Chloe's comment. However, it is widely known that Carlos' family has been opposed to his relationship with Chloe.

Carlos Yulo, a prominent gymnast from the Philippines, gained international recognition for his exceptional performances, particularly in floor exercise and vault. He became the first Filipino to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2019 and has since become a household name in the world of gymnastics.
