Former actress and entrepreneur Neri Naig was recently arr3sted for alleged syndicat3d 3stafa and violations of the Securities Regulation Code. Her husband, Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, came to her defense through an emotional Instagram post.
Chito clarified that Neri was only an endorser and had no involvement in any wrongdoing.
"Tulad ngayon, endorser lang siya, tapos ginamit yung mukha niya para makahikayat ng investors. Kinasuhan siya ng mga nabiktima," he explained.
He also shared that Neri wasn’t given any notice or subpoena about the case, making the arrest sudden and unexpected.
"Wala siyang natanggap na letter mula sa prosecutor, walang subpoena, walang kahit anong notice," Chito said, pointing out that this was different from previous cases where they had complied with legal requirements.
Chito emphasized that his wife never took money from anyone and was a kind-hearted person.
"Sobrang bait po ni Neri...as in sooobra. Eto yung babaeng kinul0ng ninyo without bail, habang nakalaya pa yung mga tunay na may kasal4nan," he wrote.
The singer remains hopeful that the case against Neri will be dismissed soon.
