Sandara Park, member of the K-pop group 2NE1 and one of the judges for Pinoy Boyband Superstar was asked by Boy Abunda on 'Tonight With Boy Abunda' to recall what for her was the most unforgettable thing he ever said to her during her Star Circle Quest stint. The two talked about this on 'Tonight With Boy Abunda' where Sandara Park appeared as guest.
It will be recalled that in 2004, the Korean girl became runner-up of Star Circle Quest, which was won by Hero Angeles.
“Sa dami mong sinabi sa akin, parang wala akong masyadong naaalala. Pero yung, ‘wala kang talent’ or ‘binili mo ba yung mga text votes,’ yung mga ganoon yung naalala ko.
Boy Abunda laughed out loud while Dara said with a smile, 'Pero alam ko yun, for the rating lang yun.”
This prompted host Boy Abunda to utter an apology. “Let me take this opportunity to apologize to you, I’m sorry,” he said.
Sandara took it with a grain of salt and remarked, “Sinabi mo yun dahil you care for me.” Boy further added, “Look at what
happened. I was wrong. You became one of the biggest stars in Asia.
Sandara had a lot of offers but she only recently agreed to do Pinoy Boyband Superstar, an ABS-CBN talent search.
She said, she made her agree to become a judge for this talent search, 'Tama yung timing. Dati, may ginagawa pa ko sa Korea or may tour ako so wala akong time,' 'Ngayon, tama yung oras na pumunta ako dito. Dati sa audition program, kinakabahan ako, pressured.
When asked about the qualities that she is looking for in a contestant, Sandara said: 'Hinahanap ko ang special something na wala sa iba. Yung X-factor. Appeal. Charisma. Yung magugustuhan ng masa.'
Does she have plans of staying in the Philippines for good?
'Babalik sa Korea, and going back to Korea – back and forth. Dahil sa Pinoy Boyband Superstar, feeling ko mas madalas na yung dating ko dito. Thank you.'
