Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has responded to the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that exploded on its launch pad blowing its payload including Facebook's $95 million satellite which provide free internet on remote places. The explosion was caught on camera.
Fortunately there were no injuries recorded during the explosion and it's safe to say that the surrounding areas are free from harm. The cause of the blast was apparently a malfunction on the launch pad of the rocket.
According to Zuckerberg: As I’m here in Africa, I’m deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX’s launch failure destroyed our satellite that would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent," Zuckerberg said on his Facebook page.
"We remain committed to our mission of connecting everyone, and we will keep working until everyone has the opportunities this satellite would have provided."
