Actor Robin Padilla, following the attack of Abu Sayyaf group in a busy market in Davao City, the hometown of President Duterte, has called for unity among Filipinos after a deadly blast which killed 14 people and more than 60 others injured.
According to Robin, a fervent supporter of President Duterte: "Para sa akin ay attack iyan sa bawat puso ng Pilipino na naniniwala na puwede talaga tayong magbago."
Robin added that he is ready to cooperate with the government's action. "We should support our president... We should be courageous at this hour. We cannot retreat at this time."
"We should be more aggressive, more importantly, we should be united at this time. Let us show our love for our country through unity as this was an attack on every Filipino," Robin added.
Many local celebrities have expressed their prayers and sadness over the tragedy and rallied behind those living in Davao City, who were told to stay inside their homes while the city was on lockdown.
