VIRAL VIDEO: Watch How a 7-Week Old Baby Hear For the First Time With His Very First Hearing Aid and Able to Smile

A seven-week old baby named Lachan was fitted with his very first hearing aid, a silicon chip comprising millions of electrical components that continuously process incoming sound.

Lachan, whose family lives in Australia, was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. His mom, Michelle Lever, says she was initially worried by the diagnosis, but as she watched her baby boy grow and blossom, those fears have melted away.

According to her, "when they turned the headphones on, her baby smiled and his face lit up, it was the most magical thing I'd ever seen in my life. It's such a happy special moment. My baby's world just opened up."

Lachan now is two and has continued to "amaze" her with his speech development.

The video which was posted online Sunday, but was first filmed in 2012, has gone viral this week after being picked up by several websites.
